Pain, swelling, bruising or difficulty using a limb can happen with a fracture, sprain or other injury. A clinician needs to examine the injury before deciding what imaging or treatment is suitable.
What may happen at Fast Track
Clinical assessment of the injury
Suitable X-ray or CT imaging on site
Pain relief and support when appropriate
Splinting, fracture care or referral
Imaging is not automatic. X-ray and CT are currently available at Lumus Radiology on site until 7:30pm, and availability can change. The treating clinician decides which tests and treatment are appropriate.
