The clinician will explain suitable care and any known additional charge before proceeding where practical.
How Medicare applies
Consultation amounts shown as a gap are the published out-of-pocket amount after the Medicare rebate. A valid Medicare card is needed for Medicare claims and eligible bulk-billed services.
X-rays and CT scans are bulk billed for Medicare-eligible patients when clinically required. Some pathology tests may also be bulk billed for eligible patients, depending on the test and applicable Medicare requirements. Medicines, consumables and some tests may attract additional charges.

Medicines, dressings, splints, consumables and some tests can attract separate charges. The final amount depends on the care provided, not only the reason for the visit.
