About Janice Hay

Part of your care team.

Janice is a highly experienced Clinical Practice Consultant and Advanced Practice Nurse with more than 40 years of nursing experience across emergency care, urgent care, primary healthcare and remote and isolated practice in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Throughout her career, Janice has combined advanced clinical practice with a genuine commitment to making the patient journey safer, easier and more compassionate. Her extensive experience in assessing and managing acute illness and injury means she brings a calm, practical and highly experienced approach to caring for patients of all ages.

Before and during her time at Fast Track, Janice also worked in some of Queensland's remote communities as a sole Remote and Isolated Practice nurse and Clinical Nurse Consultant. Working autonomously in these environments required broad clinical expertise, sound judgement and the ability to make important decisions when specialist and hospital resources were not immediately available.

Janice has been an integral part of Fast Track Urgent Care since 2022. As our Clinical Practice Consultant, she continues to care for patients while also providing clinical leadership, mentoring our nursing team and helping develop the systems and standards that underpin the care we provide. Her postgraduate training in Emergency Nursing, Health Assessment, Primary Health Care, Minor Illness and Injury, has equipped her with strong foundation in advanced assessment, clinical reasoning and medicines management.

At the heart of Janice's approach is a simple philosophy: Every clinical decision and every part of the healthcare system should ultimately improve the patient's journey.

She believes excellent healthcare comes from combining clinical expertise with compassion, good communication and a team that genuinely cares about the people who walk through the door.

For our patients, that means having an exceptionally experienced nurse who will listen, assess carefully and help make sure you receive the right care and a clear plan for what happens next.
